Humans have been storing, retrieving, manipulating and communicating information since the beginning of human history. By the blessings of science and technology, information storing and retrieving is no longer the right and property of nation alone, but every individual has now the access to have their own database. Innovations in Information Technology are expanding rapidly with the development of modern society. It is always looking for a flexible, easy-paced and satisfying service. The need for systems and methods, compatible to the individuals or companies, are increasing due to globalization where the business movement is growing fast. The last, but not the least, edition to it, generated from one great innovator, Steve Jobs, is iCloud. The goal of this article is to understand iCloud with its ability and disability to work as promised through the reviews of experts and feedbacks from users and the optimism of its inventor despite all the competitors are breathing on the back. 2. Introduction/Background
The tagline of iCloud is “it’s the easiest way to manage your content. Because you don’t have to”. The motto is to integrate all the data or to have the same data and history seamlessly with all your Apple devices connected to the Internet. It has also replaced its predecessor MobileMe service by acting as a data syncing center for email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, notes etc. The idea is simple and the work is done automatically. For example, if you are a proud owner of all Apple gadgets, you download a song in your iPod, then iCloud will save the song in your all other Apple gadgets simultaneously. Users can access anywhere and anytime without the need to back up data manually. The amazing features of iCloud so far are “Find my phone” and “Find my friends”. During the fourth-quarter of 2012, Apple announced that iCloud has 190 million users. 3. Literature Review- Research in different journals and books.
