Do you know what APA stands for? Really, it’s not for Animal Protection Association even that it sounds good, it’s actually a paper format required by McCann when we summit our college essays. APA actually stands for American Psychological Association that had established APA style that is considered to be the primary style guide for all academic papers and journalist manuscripts. The main reason that we use APA guidelines is to give us a standard format to follow when preparing our essays. The APA has basic guidelines that are required when we prepare our essays are: title page, proper lettering, proper margins, page header, spacing, properly use of quotations and citations. First, you need to know what kind of essay you are writing, because depending in the essay, it’s the information you will need in your essay paper. Example will be if you are writing a descriptive or a narrative essay that is completely your personal experience, then you should know only the basic like, formats, spacing, page header, title page, but if you are writing a more elaborated essay like a process or a research essay then you will need more than the basic elements that you will need to add in there like quotations, citations, reference page. After you know what kind of essay you are writing then you need to start setting up your paper in the computer. I will walk you through how to use Windows 10 to set up your essay paper for success. First, you need to do is set up the correct font that in APA format its required, and that will be Times New Roman size 12.
