1.0 Introduction

Apple started in April 1976 as a computer company by Steve Wozniak at 26 years old and Steve Jobs at 21. Then, McKenna had designed the Apple logo in 1977. After putting in much effort, the annual sales reached $1 million selling the first microcomputer to use color graphics. In September 1997, Apple's board of directors named Jobs as a temporary chief executive officer. Because of Jobs’s restorative efforts, by the decade's end, the title of "temporary" was dropped from Jobs’s corporate title, signaling Jobs’s return on a permanent basis, making an all-out effort and be optimism that Apple could look forward to a decade of vibrant and consistent growth. Steven P. Jobs is seen as the architect of many of Apple's amazing products, and the reason for their success. In the last decade, Apple has expanded into a very intricate company that specializes in much more than just computers. In 2001, Apple broke the barrier with the iPod, eventually becoming the dominant market leader in music players. As well, Apple joined the phone industry in 2007 with the iPhone, which has also been widely successful. So, Apple Inc. (or called as Apple Incorporate) designs, manufacture, and sells personal computers, portable digital music players, mobile communication devices and variety of related software, services, peripherals, and networking solutions. The Company sells its products worldwide through its online stores, retail stores, direct sales force and third-party wholesalers, resellers, and value-added resellers. In addition, the Company also sells Macintosh ("Mac"), iPod and iPhone compatible products, including application software, printers, storage devices, speakers, headphones, and many other accessories and peripherals through its online and retail stores. The Company not only sells to education, consumer, creative professional, and too sells to business and government customers.

2.0Content

According to news analysis, Apple is one of the most famous and successful companies in the tech industry. For the last several years, Apple has enjoyed unbridled success in several endeavours, including the iPod, iPhone and now the iPad. But Apple is not perfect. So, past success doesn't mean that it will always at the top of the industry forever. In fact, the company has several weaknesses to address. Here are some challenges and problems that face by Apple.

2.1Identify the problems / challenges

Firstly, the challenge faces by Apple Inc is how to surprise consumers in a maturing Smartphone market where many alternatives now look and feel like Apple gadget. Apple Inc have to wonder what features will be sufficient to dazzle consumers. For years, Apple Inc has won converts in part because of the freshness of the iPhone’s design and software capacities that did not exist everywhere. However, they face tougher competition from smart phones using Google Inc.’s Android software, which also feature full-screen touch displays and access to thousands of applications. Even some made in China phones also outflanks the current iPhone. However, Apple Inc still is the biggest producer of smart phone handsets.

Secondly, another heavy challenges face by Apple as well as the interim CEO is Steve Jobs himself. In most of the people perception, Apple is Steve Jobs. After death of Steve Jobs, Apple appointed Tim Cook as the company’s new CEO, as it looks to move forward following Steve Job’s resignation. Apple’s board made the decision to name Cook yesterday, after he was strongly recommended by Steve Jobs. Cook will likely build on Apple’s success, but he faces emerging challenges as Apple opens up its next chapter. So, did Apple choose the right person for the right job?

Thirdly, the challenges face by Apple is Google’s Android OS has surpassed the iPhone in smartphone market share. In addition, Android-powered devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tab are gaining traction in the tablet market. So,...
