In this Unit Activity, you will analyze a historical time period by building a timeline of certain events related to the Progressive Era. You will also enter notes into a table and create a presentation based on your timeline and the notes you took. These tasks will help you understand the importance of the historical context and chronological sequence of these events. __________________________________________________________________________
Directions and Analysis
Task 1: Organizing the Progressive Era
For this task, you will create a timeline to show the chronological sequence of events from the Progressive Era. The Progressive Era impacted and transformed the US social and political landscape. You will create a timeline in a presentation slideshow and submit that document to your teacher in the drop box.
a. For your presentation slideshow, create a simple timeline by drawing out a line and adding text boxes along the line. These boxes can be staggered above and below the line. Your timeline should start in 1900 and end in 1920. Model yours after the example shown below:
b. Using the timeline you created, organize the following events from the Progressive Era in the order that each occurred: Sixteenth, Seventeenth Amendments ratified
